I joined family and friends in San Diego a few weeks ago, where we celebrated a miracle of new life, an answered prayer after twenty-three years of praying it, a little girl soon to be born. And. As we celebrated, it was clear we had entered a new season of life . . . a time of Pure Grace . . . a place to mark undeserved favor.
Celebration in life is crucial. And, yet, we become so consumed with the stuff of this world that we often forget to celebrate what we have received through the PURE GRACE of God. What is PURE GRACE?
It’s the perfect, genuine, and real grace of God, uncontaminated by what we deserve or what we want.
It’s freely given without constraint from the heart of God. It’s the kind of grace that makes us stronger in the journey of life. The Apostle Paul explained it to the Corinthian church:
But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” So I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can live in me. For this reason I am happy when I have weaknesses, insults, hard times, sufferings, and all kinds of troubles for Christ. Because when I am weak, then I am truly strong (2 Corinthians 12: 9-10, NCV).
We are enabled to not only face each day but to conquer each day through immersing ourselves in God’s PURE GRACE. It’s a life principle:
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us (Romans 8:37, NIV).
When we know we can’t do something on our own, when we experience power to manage challenges beyond our control, when we no longer are controlled by our limitations, when we immerse ourselves in the grace of God rather than the stuff of life, we become stronger than we could ever imagine.
It’s worth celebrating. It’s not to be taken casually as if, we are owed grace, but to understand grace, itself, is an amazing gift. It’s what separates us from the darkness, from the pull of sin, from the things of the past. It’s what makes us new and produces beginnings when in reality it should be an ending. It’s when the impossible becomes possible. It’s when mountains move and hope is born. It’s when life begins and death ends. It’s Pure Grace.
- Immerse yourself in the PURE GRACE of God.
- Mark this day as a day of undeserved favor from God, acknowledging you are living in PURE GRACE.
- Take time today to celebrate the gift of PURE GRACE.
- Give thanks to God for PURE GRACE.
- Do something out of the ordinary, something that pushes you to be strong in your weakness, realizing you are more than a conqueror in the power of PURE GRACE.
It’s a party.
