It’s Friday!

It’s Friday.  My fun day.  My Madelyn and Sydney day.  I especially love our conversations.  At this point four-year-old Madelyn leads most of them; however, two-year-Sydney is catching up.

Favorite conversation last Friday:

“Nana, do you think it’s daytime or night time?”

“Madelyn, it’s daytime.”

“Right.  Nana, you can’t use a night time diaper for Sydney when it’s daytime.”

“It’s almost on.  It will be okay.”

Then, Madelyn became desperate.  “NANA!  She looked at me and held out her hand: “Hand it over.”

I handed the diaper over as she gave me the daytime diaper, which she had retrieved for me. And.  I’m still laughing.

I wonder if some of my conversations with God could be perceived in the same way.  I’ve been known to worry about details of the day that really don’t matter.   If, I could see beyond the moment–I’m sure I would be blown away to actually see the presence of God surrounding me with a divine army of angels.  It reminds me of the question Madelyn asked me a few months ago:  “Do angels laugh?”

If, they do, I’m sure I’ve provided a lot of laughter.

It’s Friday, a good day for me to hand over my worries to God.  It only makes sense:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done (Philippians 4:6;New Living Translation)

Have a worry-free fun Friday!
