It’s my day with Madelyn and Sydney. I not only have time with them but I’m part of the “team” teaching them to be strong women. I think about the girls when I deal with difficult situations. I want them to see nothing needs to paralyze them in life. Nothing.
It’s a lesson Jesus taught with a “show and tell” moment in the ancient days. I try to keep his words front and center in my mind when the paralyzing stuff of life comes my way. I hope the girls will anchor the words deep into their soul:
“I tell you, stand up, take your mat, and go home.” Immediately the paralyzed man stood up, took his mat, and walked out while everyone was watching him. The people were amazed and praised God. They said, “We have never seen anything like this!” (Mark 2:11-12, NCV).
I want to keep the word picture of the paralyzed man standing and leaving the space he had occupied, the place where he had disengaged from life, in my mind. I want to do the same each time challenges come my way.
I want to teach by example as well as by the words: Stand strong.
I want the girls to see and believe they never need to be stuck in life. I want them to know God gives divine power to stand and move out of the paralyzing spaces of life.
And. I want the same for you.
